Example: Gas supply systems
Design and construction of complex gas supply systems for a German research institution, ranging from gas cabinets and mixing stations to distribution stations.

The gas dosing system mixes and dispenses a mixture of argon and CO2 for up to 55 detectors. Mass flow controllers (MFCs) are used for both gas dosing and pressure control to ensure a uniform gas mixture at constant pressure.
Example: Gas transfer system GS645
The GS 645 gas transfer system is designed for the controlled filling and recovery of a mixture of Helium-3, Argon, and CO2 for detectors at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden.
A high-integrity system was developed using UHP (Ultra-High Purity) vacuum components. Three mass flow controllers (MFCs) and three dry-running vacuum pumps—comprising a turbomolecular pump, a scroll pump, and a specially adapted diaphragm pump—ensure regulated purification, dosing, and collection. A modern PLC control system enables monitored, highly precise, and automated processes. A pressure sensor cascade allows for precise filling across a wide pressure range.
A turbomolecular pump and a scroll pump (Pfeiffer HiPace 80 and Edwards xDS 10) enable the system to be cleared of residual gases and moisture through evacuation and pressure-swing purging, achieving vacuum levels below 1E-6 mbar.
Filling, evacuation, and purging operations are executed via automated routines.
